Build Your Ultimate Coron & Busuanga Itinerary

Whether you have three days or three weeks, Coron and Busuanga have something for everyone. Instead of following a strict schedule, use these 10 travel blocks to mix and match your dream holiday based on your budget, style, and travel pace!

Is Coron Really Just a 3-Day Trip?

some people say that Coron is only good for three days. And if you are only coming for the biggest tourist sights, that might actually be true.
You can visit iconic spots like Kayangan Lake, the Twin Lagoons, towering limestone cliffs, and hidden white-sand beaches in just a couple of days. But there is so much more to discover if you look beneath the surface.
Ask yourself: Is your favorite bar at home the most famous one in town, or is it the one with the best vibe?
That is the difference between a tourist and a true traveler. For a quick tourist visit, three days with one big island-hopping tour, a trip to the hot springs, and a few drinks in town might be enough. But is that really all you want ?
If you give yourself a little more time, you can find your own favorite secret spots and create genuine memories that stay with you forever. Best of all, the incredible warmth, friendliness, and hospitality of the Filipino people make it so easy to feel right at home.
Use our guide below to build your own adventure, explore beyond the highlights, and experience the real magic of Coron and Busuanga!

Island Hopping off the Beaten Path — The Untouched North

Want to escape the crowd? Very few travel vloggers talk about the northern tours, but they are absolutely stunning!
How to Do It: Book a trip through Coron-Island-Hopping or the Mermaid Club, or rent a motorbike and drive 40 minutes north yourself.
What to Expect: Boats depart from the Decalachao River near the airport and take you to pristine, uninhabited islands along the north coast—the exact white-sand islands you see from the airplane window as you land!
Local Experience: Combine your island tour with authentic local activities, like traditional fishing with local villagers or visiting a countryside farm.
Option : Add an overnight stay at the Riverhouse. A wonderful hidden hotel with view over the Decalachao River Valley.

Coron best beaches

Relax & Unwind on Remote Beaches

If you need a quiet day away from the crowd, head to the western or northern beaches.
Option A: Lakdayan Beach (Short Trip / Day Trip)
A breathtaking beach featuring a sandbar connected to a uninhabited island. Spend the day swinging in a hammock, reading, listening to the waves, and enjoying fresh local BBQ and cold drinks at Adela’s Beach Camp.
Overnight: Rent a small beach hut or set up a tent to sleep under the stars! Reachable easily by motorbike or minivan.
Option B: Ocam Ocam Beach (Longer Trip / Overnight Stay)
Located on the far western coast. Because of the travel time, we highly recommend staying at least one night here.
Dine at H Nice Restaurant or at a floating dining spot right on the shore.
Take a short boat trip from here to Black Island—one of Palawan’s most jaw-dropping spots, completely free from tourist crowds!

Pass Island: Located to the west, featuring incredible coral reefs just a few steps from the shore.
Both destinations offer a totally different, more spacious feel compared to the steep limestone cliffs of Coron Island.

Coron Culion

History & Hidden Gems — Visit Culion Island

Located right across from Coron, Culion is a large, peaceful island with almost no mass tourism—but a deeply fascinating history.
History: Culion was once the world’s largest leper colony and was known as the “Island of No Return.” Today, its historic hospital and museum are UNESCO-recognized historical heritage sites.
How to Visit: Take the 6:00 AM local ferry from Coron Town and return on the 4:00 PM ferry. The local pastor and the museum director offer wonderful town tours for a small donation.
For Divers: Culion is a fantastic secret base for scuba divers. You can reach key wreck dive sites much faster and explore untouched southern reefs without other dive boats around. The best place to combine diving and island hopping.
