Pass Island – tropical picture-book island in Coron Busuanga

1 hour from Coron Town
Pass Island, Busuanga : Your Ultimate Tropical Escape
If you are looking for a true tropical picture-book island, Pass Island near Coron and Busuanga is one of my absolute favorites. Whenever I need a break, this is where I head. I especially love the incredible peace and quiet here, combined with the fantastic snorkeling right off the beach.
The island looks just like a postcard: powdery white sand, swaying palm trees, a small hill with a viewpoint overlooking the turquoise waters, and a vibrant little reef surrounding it. The marine life is wonderful, and if you are lucky, you might even spot sea turtles gliding through the coral. It is quite simply the perfect spot to snorkel, unwind, and leave the world behind.
How to Get to Pass Island
There are a few different ways how to get to Pass Island, depending on the kind of experience you are looking for:
The Group Tour: The most common option is joining a standard “Reefs and Wrecks” island-hopping tour departing from Coron town. It’s a great choice if you want a hassle-free day of snorkeling and sightseeing, usually combining a couple of famous reef or shipwreck spots with a stop on Pass Island.
The Independent Way (Recommended): If you want to experience the island at your own pace, it is much better to travel independently. Head over to Concepcion — you can easily get there by rented motorbike, a private driver, or a shared public van. From Concepcion, you can hop on a local outrigger boat and reach Pass Island in no time.
Want to do it the local way ? Just send us an email with the subject “Pass Island” at travel.coron.busuanga@gmail.com, and we will gladly arrange a local boat for you and even help organize provisions in advance.
You can easily turn your trip into a full-day adventure by combining it with a visit to the nearby Concepcion Waterfall and a relaxing kayak tour through the coastal mangroves. You can find more details about that in our article : concepcion-sagrada-busuanga-bay.
