Exploring Coron Busuanga by Public Transport

Basic Information
Coron & Busuanga Island trips with public bus
You don’t need to rent a motorcycle or spend a fortune on a private car and driver to see the beauty of Busuanga. If you prefer a more local and budget-friendly experience, the island’s shared van system can take you to some of the most stunning “off-the-beaten-path” locations.
Here are our top two recommended day trips (or overnight stays) that you can easily organize yourself.
Option 1: The South-West (Concepcion, Sagrada & Busuanga Bay)
How to get there:
Take a Shared Van (Q-Van) for only 250 PHP. Their office and departure point are located near the Town Plaza. You can see the schedule and reserve a ticket here.
or go to their office View Map Location
What to do & where to go:
Concepcion Falls: A gentle 10-minute walk through the forest leads you to this local waterfall. While the water pressure is lower during the dry season, the natural pool remains a refreshing and lovely spot for a dip.
Local Assistance: Across the street from the falls, you’ll find Mrs. Laura (whatsapp +639156983549).
She runs a small bistro and can help you book private boat trips to the stunning Pass Island or arrange a tricycle for local errands. She is very well connected to the best tour-guides of this area. Trust her. Also she has good coffee and food. Try !
Kayaking & Hidden Beaches: Visit Bella Louise Guesthouse in Sagrada. They serve excellent food and offer kayak rentals.
Pro Tip: Paddle through the mangrove labyrinth to reach the white sands of Kaniki Island. While the abandoned resort on the island is guarded and off-limits, the beach itself is open to the public and breathtakingly quiet. View Map
Dining with a View: Just down the road is Hierro Resto, a charming eatery built on stilts over the water. It offers great local cuisine at low prices, and the owners can also help arrange boat transfers. View Map
Relaxation: Nearby, Sanctuaria Treehouses offers a unique vibe with buildings nestled in nature, a swimming pool, and professional massages (booking in advance recommended). View Map
Exploring the Other Side of the Bay:
If you are looking for a more “resort-style” afternoon, take a tricycle toward Marina del Sol.
Al Fresco Busuanga: Located at the entrance, this spot features a pool, great cocktails, and kayak rentals. From here, you can paddle out to see a sunken seaplane wreck. There is a minimum spend of 750 PHP, which can be applied toward drinks, food and kayak rental.
Al Faro Cosmio Hotel: Follow the signs to the Al Faro pier and take their boat across to the hotel. It offers one of the best views in Busuanga, an infinity pool, and excellent food. It’s a perfect spot for a sunset cocktail or a massage.
Further Support: For organized boat tours or island hopping in this area, contact Ann and Mike’s Guesthouse (+639270261513).
They are incredibly helpful and known for their hospitality. View Map

How to get there:
This trip involves two stages:
Take a Shared Van from Coron Town to the Airport (any hotel can book this for you, price is 250PHP).
From the Airport, take a Tricycle to Decalachao/The Riverhouse for approx. 500 PHP.
Alternatively, The Riverhouse can arrange a private car pickup for 700 PHP (up to 4pax).

Why visit The Riverhouse?
The Riverhouse is more than just a hotel; it is a gateway to authentic Busuanga. Perched high on a hill, the restaurant offers an incredible 360-degree view of the river and Maricaban Bay. View Map
The atmosphere here is wonderfully relaxed, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist tracks.
From here, you can paddle down the tranquil river in a kayak or set out to explore uninhabited islands with pristine white sands. It is also a unique opportunity to connect with the local community by learning traditional fishing and farming techniques, allowing you to dive deep into the island’s authentic spirit.
Unique Tours & Experiences:
Island Hopping: Rent a small boat (up to 3 people) starting at 3,000 PHP to visit deserted white-sand islands.
Firefly River Tour: At night, the mangroves come alive with fireflies while the water sparkles with bioluminescent plankton. A truly magical experience for 850 PHP per person.
Local Fishing: Join local fishermen from Maricaban Bay to learn traditional techniques and grill your catch later—a deeply authentic experience.
Farm Experience: Visit a local riverside farm to learn about rice planting, harvesting, and even try riding a water buffalo (Carabao).
Whether you come for the day to enjoy the view, fast Wi-Fi and fantastic food or stay for a few nights to soak in the silence, this is Busuanga at its most natural.
At The Riverhouse, you don’t just see the island; you dive deep into its spirit and experience life far beyond the usual tourist trail.
