How to get to Coron and Busuanga

Coming to Coron
Arriving by plane or boat at Busuanga Coron
For most travelers looking to make the most of their precious vacation time, flying to Busuanga is the top choice. It’s fast, relatively comfortable, and prices are often affordable, especially if you book in advance.
The ferry is a fantastic option for backpackers with more time on their hands and for anyone who wants to experience the Philippine island world from the water. The connections from El Nido are particularly convenient if you’re planning an island-hopping tour through Palawan.
Flying to Coron, Francisco B. Reyes Airport
The quickest and most convenient way to reach Coron is by flying to Francisco B. Reyes Airport (USU) on Busuanga Island. Several Philippine airlines, including Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and Sunlight Air offer multiple daily direct flights from Clark (CRK) and Cebu (CEB).
Important Notice: As of March 29, 2026, Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has restricted turboprop operations. Because the runway in Coron (Busuanga) cannot yet accommodate larger jet aircraft, there are no longer direct flights from Manila to Coron.
If you arrive in Manila, you can transfer from the airport directly to Clark airport with a shuttle bus,
in 3 hours.
Flying via Clark (CRK)
If you are in Manila, the best way to fly is via Clark International Airport.
Shuttle Service: Take the Genesis P2P Bus from Manila/NAIA to Clark. The trip takes about 3 hours.
Bus Schedule: genesistransportserviceinc.com/p2pbusservice.
Flying via Cebu (CEB)
We also highly recommend flying via Cebu. Flights from Cebu to Busuanga (Coron) are often significantly cheaper and offer a more relaxed connection.
Pro Tip: Use search engines like KIWI to find the best prices for flights to and in the Philippines.
And also Booking.com and Trip is known for having the best offers.
Fly to Coron cheaper ! How to Beat Exploding Flight Prices !
If you’ve been looking at flights to Coron lately and felt a sudden pang of “sticker shock,” you aren’t alone. As of early 2026, airfares from Manila (NAIA) to Busuanga (Coron) have reached historic highs, with “budget” seats often costing as much as regional international flights.
The biggest driver of the price explosion is a government-mandated shift to decongest Manila’s main gateway.
The Mandate: As of March 29, 2026, all turboprop operations (the smaller propeller planes like the ATR 72) have been officially moved out of NAIA.
The Impact: Since the Busuanga airport runway is too short for large jet aircraft (like the Airbus A320), almost all direct flights to Coron must use turboprops. With these planes banned from Manila to make room for larger international jets, the “supply” of seats from NAIA has plummeted.
The Price Spike: Fewer flights from Manila means the remaining slots are premium. Airlines are essentially charging a “convenience tax” for the few remaining ways to get to Coron directly from the capital.
Pro-Tip for Travelers
If you live in Metro Manila, the P2P (Point-to-Point) Bus from Trinoma or NAIA to Clark International Airport costs around ₱450–₱600. Even with that bus fare added, you will often save ₱3,000 to ₱5,000 per person by flying out of Clark instead of Manila.
Note: Always double-check your terminal. If you booked a flight for April 2026 or later through a budget carrier, it is almost certainly departing from Clark, even if you originally searched for Manila.

how to get to Coron Town
Once you land, you’ll need to pay a 200 PHP environmental fee (with no explanation where the money goes to ). It’s a good idea to have some local currency exchanged or withdrawn from an ATM (e.g., at Cebu Airport) beforehand.
Outside the airport, minivans will be waiting. Depending on your accommodation, you’ll be assigned a van that will take you into town. The ride takes about 30 minutes and costs a flat rate of ₱250. Since drivers often drop off passengers at multiple accommodations in Coron Town, it might take a little longer to reach your final destination. For those who want to play it safe and book their transfer online, you can do so here.
If your accommodation isn’t in Coron Town, inquire beforehand if they offer airport pick-up or can arrange a transfer for you. Unfortunately, there are currently no motorcycle rentals available at the airport.

arriving at Coron harbour
Upon arriving at Coron harbor by ferry, you’ll be required to pay a 200 PHP environmental fee—though it feels more like it’s lining the pockets of someone than helping the planet. Once outside, avoid the tricycles waiting directly at the pier; they charge a premium of 300 PHP for a 5 min ride into town. If you have a few minutes, walk to the other side of the street and hail a passing tricycle or electric car for less than half that price.”
