Coming to Coron

Arriving by plane or boat at Busuanga Coron

For most travelers looking to make the most of their precious vacation time, flying to Busuanga is the top choice. It’s fast, relatively comfortable, and prices are often affordable, especially if you book in advance.
The ferry is a fantastic option for backpackers with more time on their hands and for anyone who wants to experience the Philippine island world from the water. The connections from El Nido are particularly convenient if you’re planning an island-hopping tour through Palawan.

Flying

The quickest and most convenient way to reach Coron is by flying to Francisco B. Reyes Airport (USU) on Busuanga Island. Several Philippine airlines, including Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and AirAsia, offer multiple daily direct flights from major hubs like Manila (MNL) and Cebu (CEB).
From Manila: You’ll find the widest selection of flight times and airlines here. The flight typically takes about one hour. However, be sure to allow ample buffer time, especially if connecting to international flights, as Manila can sometimes be a bit chaotic.
From Cebu: Direct flights to Busuanga are also available from Cebu, with a flight time of approximately one hour. This is a great option if you’re exploring the Visayas and want to continue directly to the Palawan archipelago.

Upon Arrival at Busuanga Airport
Once you land, you’ll need to pay an environmental fee for the island, which is ₱200. It’s a good idea to have some local currency exchanged or withdrawn from an ATM (e.g., at Manila Airport) beforehand.
Outside the airport, minivans will be waiting. Depending on your accommodation, you’ll be assigned a van that will take you into town. The ride takes about 30 minutes and costs a flat rate of ₱250. Since drivers often drop off passengers at multiple accommodations in Coron Town, it might take a little longer to reach your final destination.
If your accommodation isn’t in Coron Town, inquire beforehand if they offer airport pick-up or can arrange a transfer for you. Unfortunately, there are currently no motorcycle rentals available at the airport.
