A Challenging Journey
Exploring Busuanga’s East Coast
Busuanga’s East Coast remains largely off the beaten path, offering a rugged adventure for those willing to brave its challenging roads. While the land access can be tough, especially for motorcycles, with reports of difficult terrain and occasional accidents, the rewards include secluded beaches, stunning viewpoints, and a taste of local life.
Marcilla Sandbar: A Secluded Beach Gem
On the western side of the East Coast, you’ll find Marcilla Sandbar, a beautiful beach divided into two sections, with the northern part generally considered the more picturesque. In between, there’s a small shop offering drinks and snacks, though its opening hours can be sporadic. Due to the coastal vegetation, mosquitoes are common here, so make sure to pack your mosquito spray!
The St. Nicolas Route: A Smoother Path with Bonuses
While it’s a detour, taking the route via St. Nicolas often presents an easier drive. This path also leads you past the charming Seven-Falls waterfall, where you’ll find a small hiking trail to explore. Continue along this road, and you can reach the town of Turda via Pebeauco Hill Park, offering wonderful viewpoints and additional hiking opportunities along the way.
Northern Route Highlights: Views and Hikes
Opting for the northern part of the East Coast route allows you to visit the delightful Kina-John Bar. Here, you can enjoy food, drinks, and soak in the fantastic views. A hike around Mount Dalara also comes highly recommended for nature lovers.

Secluded Stays: Borac Bay View Resort
For those seeking quiet days away from the bustle, consider the Borac Bay View Resort. Located on the East Coast, it’s known for its peaceful seclusion.
