Beyond the Boats

Exploring Busuanga Island

So, you’ve enjoyed the incredible island hopping around Coron and now you’re ready to explore Busuanga Island on your own? Great choice! There’s a lot to discover on the main island, offering a different side to your Palawan adventure.
Busuanga is largely covered by forests and hills, with pockets of rice paddies and farms. You’ll also find plains that have a savannah-like feel, while the coast is often fringed with protective mangrove forests, providing a crucial habitat for various animals. A trip through the island is definitely worthwhile, and you’ll find the local people incredibly friendly and helpful, making it easy to navigate.
You can reach these spots by rented motorcycle, car, tricycle, or even local buses. For more details on getting around, check out our [link to Getting Around Coron Town & Busuanga Island] section.

Nature & Waterfalls

Close to Coron Town, you’ll find Kingfisher Park, a serene spot where you can paddle a kayak through the mangroves, enjoy birdwatching, and simply soak in the natural beauty. The area around Concepcion also offers great kayaking opportunities, plus a small waterfall nestled in the forest. You can find more details in our [link to South Coast section] section.
A note on waterfalls: Not all waterfalls on Busuanga have abundant water during the dry season, so don’t be disappointed if they aren’t gushing!
Kilien Falls: The journey to Kilien Falls is more challenging than to Concepcion Falls. Part of the route involves difficult terrain, and you’ll need to trek a bit further through the forest.
Gochi Falls: Located close to Busuanga Airport (USU), the Gochi Falls are easily accessible for a quick refreshing stop.

Hiking & Wildlife
