Hidden Gems and Breathtaking Views

Exploring Busuanga’s North Coast

Beyond Coron Town’s bustling hub, Busuanga Island’s North Coast unfolds into a serene landscape of pristine beaches, lush scenery, and tranquil escapes. This region offers a different pace of island life, perfect for those seeking peace, authentic local experiences, and stunning natural beauty.

Lakdayan Beach: A Coastal Paradise
Head north into Barangay Cheey, and you’ll discover Lakdayan Beach, a truly beautiful white-sand stretch. At low tide, a long sandbar emerges, connecting the beach to a charming offshore island – a magical sight for a stroll. The most idyllic section of the beach is managed by the Bonayog family, marked on Google Maps as Adelas Beach Camp.
Here, you’ll find inviting hammocks, cozy seating areas, and a small beach bar ready to serve you. The food offered here is excellent, making a visit well worth your time. Lakdayan Beach is also ideal for families with children, as its very shallow waters are perfect for splashing and playing. For more on family excursions, check out our [Link to Kids’ Activities] page. If you dream of sleeping under the stars, you can even camp directly on the beach, with 6 tents currently available. You can reserve your spot here: [Link to Camping Reservations].

Scenic Stops Along the Way
As you journey towards Cheey, make a delightful stop at The Riverhouse in Decalachao. This boutique hotel’s terrace offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding forests, a winding river, and glimpses of the North Coast. It’s an ideal spot for a coffee, a meal, and even features fast Wi-Fi.

The Road Less Traveled

Towards Barangay Quezon
For the truly adventurous motorcycle rider, continuing along the coastal road past Cheey will lead you to a challenging section. This path, despite being marked as a “National Highway,” is often just bare stone with a thin layer of sand, making it suitable only for experienced and determined riders. If you manage the journey, you’ll eventually arrive at Aliton Beach and, a little further, the Miley Lodging House.
Aliton Beach: Located north of the Dugong Watch-Zone, Aliton Beach is a pristine paradise of white sand, offering pure tranquility and seclusion. Small huts are available for rent, along with hammocks and a small store offering drinks and food (though supplies can sometimes be limited). If you wish to reserve a hut, you can try contacting them via [Link to Aliton Beach Huts], but be prepared for potential delays in response due to limited signal in this remote region. It’s also wise to bring your own supplies as the reception might not always be well-stocked.
In contrast, Miley Lodging House shines with its excellent cuisine and comfort. A swimming pool with coastal views and friendly hosts make for a memorable stay. From here, you can easily organize trips to see the magnificent Dugongs or explore the Calauit Safari Park.t.

Landscapes and Leisure
Alternatively, if you take the route through St. Nicolas and Dicabobo when heading north, you’ll be rewarded with a picturesque drive through rolling hills and lush forests.

Mount Talapay: For unparalleled tranquility and magnificent views, a visit to Mt. Talapay is a must. Here, you’ll enjoy a stunning panorama of the northern island and the sea, complete with diverse photo opportunities. The gardens are meticulously maintained, featuring charming small huts where day-trippers can relax. At the mountain’s summit, you’ll find a swimming pool and a beautiful terrace. Food and drinks are available, and a few cottages offer overnight stays. You can even arrange for a masseuse to visit you here. Overall, it’s one of the best spots for true relaxation, easily accessible via a well-maintained road through scenic landscapes.

Triangle Houseboat: Just about 3 kilometers past Mount Talapay, taking a right turn leads you to a picturesque northern bay. Here, you’ll discover the Triangle Houseboat (now rectangular after renovations!). This large floating platform, equipped with a slide, benches, shaded areas, and sun loungers, is perfect for a fantastic day out on the water. A small hut on the coast provides access to boats that can ferry you to the float. Best of all, you can enjoy delicious food here, with their BBQ being highly recommended.

You can easily combine a trip to the Floating House and Mt. Talapay into a fantastic day trip, or even crown it with an overnight stay at Mt. Talapay. For reservations of food, tables, huts, or accommodation, Mermaid-Club Travel Agency in Coron Town Center is happy to assist.
